What this site collects.
I use Google Analytics to see how many people visit and which platform sent them. It starts when the page opens. If you'd rather it didn't, press No thanks on the bar at the bottom and it stops immediately — and the cookie it set is deleted.
What it records
- which pages you opened, and when
- the site or post that sent you here
- roughly where you are, worked out from your IP address — country and city, not an address
- your device type, browser and screen size
- whether you clicked “Book a call” or my email address
It stores a cookie on your device to tell a returning visit from a new one. Google processes this on my behalf; their terms are at policies.google.com/privacy. I never see your name, your email, or who you are — only counts and where they came from.
If you opt out
Nothing more is recorded, on this visit or any future one, and the analytics cookie is removed from your device. Your choice is remembered in your own browser and nowhere else.
Things that happen outside this site
Booking a call takes you to Calendly, and emailing me opens your own mail app — from that point their privacy terms apply, not mine. The site is hosted by Netlify, which keeps standard server logs the way every web host does.
Changing your mind
Press the button and the bar comes back, so you can choose again.
Done. The bar will ask again next time you open the site.
Asking me anything
Email cristian@cristianghostwriting.com and I'll answer. If you want whatever data is tied to your visit removed, say so and I'll remove it.
